Level 3 First Aid at Work : 3 day course
It is a requirement of the Health & Safety at Work etc Act 1974 that employers provide a safe and healthy environment to work in.
If your assessment of first aid needs highlights the need for qualified first aiders, then this level 3 qualification will provide you with suitable, highly trained personnel.
This comprehensive three-day course covers a wide range of first aid emergencies, enabling all participants to deal with emergency situations with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way.
This course gives the participants a qualification to the highest level of First Aid, meeting the statutory requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
Certification – This qualification lasts for 3 years. To renew the qualification, learners will need to attend the 2 day Requalification course.
However, it is recommended that during the 3-year period, the learners attend annual refresher courses.

Level 3 First Aid at Work Requalification: 2 day course
This 2-day First Aid at Work course is designed for those who currently hold a First Aid at Work qualification and are due to expire.
Please consider the following rules for attendance:

- A First Aider can renew their First Aid at Work qualification by attending a 2-day requalification course without question, if it’s within 1 month past the expiry date.
- If the First Aider has lapsed by more than 1 month, but no longer than 3 months, then the First Aider can requalify by attending a 2-day course providing ‘Special considerations’ have been applied.

- A signed letter from the employer to the provider of the training stating the reasons why in their opinion, the First Aider is suitably experienced to attend a 2-day course and does not require a full 3-day FAW course

OR …
A decision is made by the provider of the training after discussions with the employer, or the First Aider, and deciding that their previous experience is sufficient to attend a 2-day course

- If the First Aider has lapsed beyond 3 months then they must attend a full 3-day First Aid at Work course

N.B. The important thing to remember is that as soon as the certificate expires, the First Aider is no longer considered competent to act as a First Aider in the workplace which may well leave the employer with a shortfall of First Aiders. Therefore, it would be prudent to arrange their First Aid at Work Requalification before they expire.
Certification- Successful qualification on this course is based on practical assessments conducted throughout the course and written test papers each day.
A three year Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (Level 6 in Scotland) will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment. No external assessors are required.
Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work : 1 day course
Where an organisation’s risk assessment of First Aid needs identifies that there is a requirement for Emergency First Aid at Work practitioners,
then this national Award in Emergency First Aid at Work satisfies the requirements of the regulatory body for First Aid – the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
All learners will have the skills and knowledge to provide the organisation with Emergency First Aider’s that can provide treatment to their casualties in a prompt, safe and effective manner.

- Basic hygiene in First Aid
- Burn
- Epilepsy

- Anatomy

Certification – Summative practical assessment is ongoing by the instructor throughout the day.
A three year Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (Level 6 in Scotland) certificate will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment.
Level 3 Paediatric First Aid : 2 day course, units 1 & 2
This course has been developed for those who are working with children and infants. It will be of particular interest to teachers, child minders, crèche assistants, playgroup personnel and anyone else who has a responsibility for their welfare whilst in your care.
It is ideal for individuals who are responsible for children and infants, who wish to gain a nationally regulated Level 3 Award.
This two-day course satisfies the guidelines and criteria as laid down by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Ofsted.
In order to obtain this qualification, you must attend both days and complete the two units of accreditation.

Certification Assessment is ongoing by the instructor in respect of the student’s practical skills & there will be multiple choice question paper to answer in respect of their knowledge.
A three year Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (Level 6 in Scotland) will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment.

Level 3 Emergency Paediatric First Aid : 1 day course
This one-day Emergency Paediatric First Aid course has been designed for those who have an interest in child and infant basic life support.
If you have a professional interest, i.e. you are a child-minder or school teacher, etc, then this course partly fulfils the requirements of Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage require you to have 12 hours of paediatric first aid training, so the 2-Day Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid would be required to fulfil their requirements.
This 6 hour qualification also makes up the first half of the 12-hour course.

A three year Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (Level 6 in Scotland) will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment.
Level 3 Activity First Aid : 2-day course
This Level 3 qualification is made up of two units including First Aid Essentials.
It is specifically designed for those who are involved in any form of activity, including sports, leisure and recreation.
Not only is Basic Life Support included, but many other First Aid conditions are also covered, making the full qualification very comprehensive.
Unit 1, (or day 1) of this qualification contains and covers the learning outcomes of the level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work, so those who wish to gain the level 3 award in EFAW are able to sit day 1 of this qualification.

Level 3 Basic Life Support Courses
These Basic Life Support courses will give learners the skills and knowledge to act in an emergency situation providing the casualty with critical life-saving assistance until support arrives.

These take between 3-4 hours to complete.
- Level 3 Award in Basic Life Support and Automated External Defibrillation (RQF)
- Level 3 Award in Basic Life Support and Automated External Defibrillation for Adults, Children and Infants (RQF)
- Level 3 Award in Basic Life Support, Automated External Defibrillation and Anaphylaxis (RQF)
- Level 3 Award in Basic Life Support, Automated External Defibrillation and Anaphylaxis for Adults, Children and Infants (RQF)
Syllabus
These Basic Life support courses are suitable for anyone looking to gain basic first aid knowledge and skills for adults, children and infants including the use of an AED and the management of Anaphylaxis.
Certification- This qualification lasts for 3 years. To renew the qualification, learners will need to complete the full course again.
It is recommended that learners attend annual refresher training during the 3-year qualification period.
First Aid Annual Refresher Course for First Aiders and Emergency First Aiders : Half-day course
Although it is not mandatory, the HSE strongly recommends that HSE qualified First Aiders and Emergency First Aiders undertake a first aid annual refresher course in order to keep their skills up-to-date and refreshed. The qualification period for both groups of First Aiders is 3-years. It was felt that this period was too long without any additional training.
